Need input on basic equipment (sprinklers, spreader, etc.)

I would like some suggestions on basic lawn equipment, especially sprinklers and spreaders. Does anybody have any recommendations. I am starting a new backyard lawn after using RoundUp to kill the last 15 years' growth of "stuff." The area is about 30 feet by 60 feet and flat. Because of the planned use, I will be using perennial rye, annual rye and a little fescue after liming and fertilizing. I'd welcome any suggestions. Thanks, Allen
