Last summer I had several of my hydrangeas totally wilt some were newly planted (i got 5 from Hydrangeas Plus) and four of them died. However three of my older larger Hydrangeas wilted and I cut them to the ground. I don't know what happened..and am praying they will come back. They got plenty of water..do Hydrangeas get phytothera root rot? It seemed like this but have no way of telling. The four new ones were all in the same place but the others were scattered around. Is there something I can put on them this spring to prevent this?
