Hi there,
I planted my carrots a few weeks ago and went out looking for them today. I weeded the area I planted them and only found a few babies. I decided to keep weeding to plant some other stuff next to them and found more, bigger seedlings. Then i kept going and found plants of a decent size. I found some in my lawn, too.
I guess the recent rains moved all my seeds around. That will not work for me! Can I move them or will my carrots suffer.
They are not the long type of carrot, they are "thumbelina" for clay soil. And I pulled one out, no carrots yet, just roots.
Thanks!
Michelle
Travelling Carrots - ???
Probably more trouble than it is worth but you can move them If You take a deep enoght plug to avoid damage to the taproot. Those taproots go deep fast and if broken can result in some interesting misshapen carrots.
Cool, I'm gonna try ity. I don't mind mishappen carrots! Nobody's perfect!
Michelle
