Orchid reclassification - Oncidium alliance

St. John's, NL(Zone 5b)

Hi everyone: just as an update, a number of Oncidium -alliance orchids have recently been reassigned to either new species or new genus. As an example, Miltonia warcewiczii is now Oncidium fuscatum. This has resulted in many name changes for already registered hybrids. As an example, Colmanara Wildcat, which is a very popular Oncidium alliance orchid, is now Odontocidium Wildcat. Here is a link to the newest names changes. If you have any Oncidium alliance orchids, check out the site to see if they have had their genus changed.

If you have chnaged orchid and have them entered in PF, please go back to your entry and change it to the correct name, placing the old name as a synonym.
