Oh no! Did I mess up royally?

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

Could not resist and bought 10 lillium "centerfold". When I got home and did a google it said to Zone 8. Any houstonians growing oriental lily hibryds?

Note to self: research before you buy

Corpus Christi, TX(Zone 9a)

I tried them over here in Corpus (9a) but they only worked in pots for me. Hope you have better luck than I did, but I must say the StarGazer lilies that did appear just that once in the large pot were gorgeous. They are worth a shot as annuals if nothing else. Plus, the ones I had were so fragrant. Good luck. Barb

I think they need a period of chilling in the winter to bloom the second year, but you can grow them as annuals.

For whatever it's worth, mine have returned quite well for me up here

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

Oh well, I don't buy very many annuals. I prefer to spend my money on perennials. But they were so beautiful--I planted them around an althea tree with the same coloration, white w/ dark eye. There is a calla that I was looking at with the same coloration. Oh well, I guess I'll start buying the callas (I should have bought these in the first place) and start replacing as lillium ceases to return.

thanks everybody for your comments and Happy Easter
