What a beauty! I also love maranta, but I've never come across *anything* like this! Where does one find such interesting maranta?

Oh My !

I had no idea that "Prayer Plant" could be variegated.

What a plus for an already beautiful house plant.

My local nursery has several of these variegation versions, really pretty, but this particular specimen just knocked me out!

Here's a photo of the 'normal' variegated version.

These plants would have to be one of the best house plants around.
I remember growing one when I was a young boy and looked in wonder as they began to close at night.
The variagation is something I've not seen before.
Maybe someone over there could market it under the name of "Minstral" ..as in black and white minstral?........although no black to be seen.
(hope that dosn't upset anyone)

Thanks for the lovely photo.

That is sooooo cool-- does the whole plant look like that or just a couple leaves?

RaspberryLady took the words right out of my mouth! LOL!!!

RUN ,Don't walk to your Walmart.

The stores up here have vari Prayer plants 5.99 for a nice bushy 6" hanging planter.

While checking through all of them I realized that each individual plant seems to have its own version of variegation.

I found some with solid white covering anywhere from 1/4 to about 2/3 but not the perfect split like on kniphofia's plant.

The pink and white mottling on the other leaves is very pretty ,

mine has a leaf over 1/2 white with ghostly pale pink spots mimicking the spots on a regular leaf.

I will post pics soon as my camera is fixed ;-(

Funny, but if it wasn't for kniphofia posting this thread I would have never given a common prayer plant a second look.
