Clematis 'Freckles'

Crossville, TN(Zone 6b)

My nursery has this climber.I would like to buy it but I live in zone 6b and the PF say 7. Of course we do have many winters that are considered 7. I was wondering if anyone has grown this especially those in a colder zone than 7.
Where would you plant it since it is a early bloomer. We do get late frost.
Thanks, Linda

Its gorgeous
I grew seiboldii in a pot cause it was zone 7
It was in a hanging basket
brought it in the GH for the winter
Finnally kiiled it but it did fine in a pot
(Its dying was my fault)

I never thought of using it as a hanging vine. I have an enclosed porch that I could use if I run out of space in the house. LOL Thanks for your input. Anyone else?

It depends on where you plant it. Will it be in a sheltered area close to your house or in the middle of your garden where it will have to brave the elements?

Sorry you lost your C. seiboldii, Karyn. Don't feel too bad....I lost mine too!

Ok, I tried looking it up and cannot find C. seiboldii. Can someone give me a link.
Thanks, Linda

Here is a link to read more about C. Florida Sieboldii. [HYPERLINK@www.pikebaylodge.com]

Your growing zone is not warm enough for C. Florida Sieboldii, unless you have a greenhouse to grow it in. It requires zone 7a and warmer to grow outdoors.
