The butterfly house is open now at Midlands dow gardens.
If you have never been there, you really should make it a point to go.
Its a huge GH filled with flowering plants and butterflies and birds. The butterflies fly around freely and even land on you. They have a activity barn with stuff for the kids to make and this weekend there is a clown and the man that does the glass blown butterflies.
I love going there-remember its a chilly walk out to the butterfly house but once inside, very warm and toasty. Wear bright colors to attract the butterflies to you.
We are going later today and again and again till it closes!
Dont forget your cameras!!!!!!

Deann
Fredrick Meijer Gardens (Grand Rapids ) has theirs open too - absolutely stunning!!! They land on you and they have a hatching area also. Nice and toasty place to spend a day...
we go up there 2-3 times a year, its agreat place
That is neat, very nice pictures! Bet it felt good to be in that greenhouse, huh?
Great Pictures Dori, thanks for sharing.
Michigan State Uninversity has a pretty nice butterfly house too. I haven't been there in about 2 years, but it was great when I was there last.
The Detroit Zoo has a butterfly house too.
That is very cool. They didn't have that when I lived in Midland.
Boy the Dow family sure spends a ton of cash making that city beautiful and with their recreation center, that giant sledding hill and tobogan run they built. And now they have this and botanical gardens. It's the most beautiful chemical watseland I've ever seen.
I miss living in Michigan sometimes, except this time of year. I complain about how short the growing season is here!LOL There is something really wrong when winter outlasts spring and summer by as much time as it does up there.
Beautiful pictures, thanks for posting them.
So pretty. I work at a large garden center. We start planting in January and are still at it. This week we got a bunch of finished (blooming) stuff in cuz we will open on Monday. Some days I can hardly wait to get to work.
they will be back march 9th!!
gosh I havent been there in years It's still as beautiful as ever I'm going to have to make a point to get there Its worth the cold trip out to the b.f. house I like to go there any time and just stroll around
Gloria
