I was walking around and happened to look down and saw something had chomped a hole in one of my iris. The roots are still embedded in the soil. Can I do anything to save it? Weather is still cold.
Can they be saved?
The rhizome is under soil so should live but whats
is eating it need to be found ? FAST ?
Can I sprinkle something around it?
Sprinkle a little Comet kitchen cleanser (or other bleach-based kitchen cleanser) into the wound. That will help prevent a secondary bacterial rot infection and dry up the wound. Also, leave the wound exposed to the air. Do not cover it with soil.

Thanks I have some of that.
