Lovely! The scent from mine is now reaching that 'over powering' state. I just love this clematis, don;t you?

Yes, I sure do. Will the fragrance come later with warm weather and/or more flower development?

I can hardly wait to get some clematis.I have one but it didn' bloom last year or I missed it because I was ill on the couch.Bummer.I want hundreds of them.I've started about 300 from seed still in frig.I'm scared to take them out and start them, scared of failure.I have 10-12 kinds in damp spagham moss in different baggies, they've been in the frig for about 4-5 months. Some should sprout.I'm going to take them out when and if they sprout take those out of the bags, then return the ones that don't back in the frig for another 3-4 months and try again.Wish me luck.heehee Jody

Oh my, for me the scent is from first bloom till last...very similar to that of a hyacinth (at least to my nose).....I'm surprised you can't smell yours. May be a different variety than mine although the picture looks exact. HMMMMMM

Oh and Good Luck Jody :-)

Hummmm. Well I just went and did a big ol' sniff! I can smell them! But last year I could smell them 20 feet away in the driveway. Maybe it's my nose! It's 50* outside and overcast.

Would a few blooms cut and brought in survive in a vase?

They survive for a few hours at best, but the scent lingers. :-)

Will try it when DW is home then...
