Northern Rivers NSW, Australia(Zone 7b)

Anyone help with advise on SOFT TIP Yuccas suitable for potting and landscaping and where I can buy seed from that can be sent to Australia.

Thanks , Holty...

Are you looking for a specific plant or for any yucca that won't stab you?

Red Yucca (Hesperaloe parviflora) is sturdy, easy to grow, and attractive.http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/31558/index.html

Pendulous Yucca (Yucca recurvifolia) lopoks soft because the 'leaves' bend but they are a bit sharp. http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/68756/index.html

Soapweed (Yucca glauca) is kind of weedy looking http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/63769/index.html

Banana Yucca (Yucca baccata var. baccata) is a very nice - and gentle! - plant http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/68225/index.html

Spanish dagger (Yucca gloriosa) is particularly attractive when mature. http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/1756/index.html

I hope one of those is what you want. The links to the plant files will sometimes have links to vendors but you can also ask areound at Dave's for seeds or trades.

Hi Jen ,
NON Stabbers please. I have some Elephantipes in pots and their leaves are perfect for areas where children play (and pets too!!) . I am looking at starting a hobby nursery in "water wise" plants and Yuccas/Agaves are a good place to start.

Thanks for the reply ,

Holty in OZ.
