Anyone know about "Frozen Shoulder?"

My friend at archives has had a stiff shoulder that is painful if she tries to use it normally. She thinks it is "Frozen Shoulder." Tomorrow she will see the doctor. I am interested in anything she can do at home to help, alternative therapies. Any vitamins, exercises, poultices, etc. that work?
