Red twigged bush

Millersburg, PA(Zone 6b)

What is the name of the beautiful multistemmed red-twigged bush I am noticing all over the place that is so beautiful against the snow? Would like to find one that also gets berries for thebirds.

I have ordered silky dogwood but I don't think that is the plant.

Any help would be apprecited.

My favorite winter berry bush is Aronia arbutifolia 'Brilliantissima'. The clusters of dark red berries look particularly good when they've been coated with ice. The shrub is a hardy native that just keeps expanding!

Thanks RikerBear - that's the one. Need to order 1 or 2.

I'll have to look up Aronia arbutiflora "Brilliantissima", mickgene, I have a Callicarpa bodinieri "Early Amethyst" on order from Parks for bird berries, but could use a few more bushes.

Thanks for your help folks, it is a little hard to google a bush if you have no idea what the name is.

I like the variegated redtwig dogwood. Multi-season interest / more bang for the buck.

jerrynmickey, did you order it from a nursery that has an on-line webpage? I can't find it. If it is hardy in your area, should survive in mine.

I got my aronia from Carroll Gardens in Westminster MD. They are online, but I'm not sure that everything is offered online. I haven't been there in a couple of years, but they had a lot of things that made it worth a daytrip for me. If you're not too far and can't find it online, that might be an option???

Just googled it and found these 3 sources:

Good luck. It's an easy, beautiful shrub.
