Most stalks produce two ears. Depending on the weather you may get two ears plus a bitty one that may do it's best to fill out but usually doesn't succeed.

As an average, figure two ears per stalk, especially for sweet corn. Field corn will sometimes produce 3-4 but that is rare.

I get two and have for years even thirty yearsago we had a thousand acres in Golden Jubliee for the cannery and we got two

Drew_N_Corinn .. I reckon'at 'em two fellers, up thar ^.. oughta know!

Yep .. a couply good reputable rotunda 'braggin' ears, on each stalk .. is 'bout average!

On our Golden Bantam sweet corn last spring (the stalks that remained standing upright after a goof puff of wind caught it) .. the few stalks, tried mitey hard to give us three ears. But I don't bleeve the wee lil nubbies'd quite qualify ... LOL ...

Let us know how the wagerin' comes out .. alrighty? .. (*jes teasin' ya*)
