DS will be going to University in 18 months and his studies will be mainly in the sciences and maths. He has $1,000 (CDN) saved up so far and I'm hoping the computer experts here can tell me which laptop make and model would best serve his needs. edited to say I'm sure I read somewhere that some puters are more adept at processing math, etc. than others.

Then we can figure out how much more money needs to be stashed away! ;)
