Jung's and Henry say exactly the opposite about Valentine and Chipman's Canada Red. Each says the other one does not lose the red color when cooked. Can anyone help me with this. I want the one that stays red thru cooking but am confused now. Thanks.
Need help with picking a rhubarb cultivar
I'm looking at the Chipman's Canada Red in HenryField's catalog right now and am so tempted to order it.
I hope someone has some info on this.
I think what I will end up doing is ordering the rhubarb combination from Jung's which will give me 3 of each. That way I will know for sure I'm getting the correct one. We have a few Victoria already but they are mostly green. I think they are one of the old heirloom ones.
I did order the Chipman's Red from Henry Fields last night. I actually ordered a combo of that one and another one, but I can't remember the name of it right now. The paperwork is at my office too. I'm hoping that one of the two will be a real red one.
I'd be glad to send out a chunk of red in the spring. I need to cut down the size of these clumps! LMK
Kooger, you have e-mail. Thank you so much.
