LOL Rikerbear, no I don't even have this one 'yet'. I'll be ordering some for sure! I wanted to share that photo with my gardening friends. Love the Louisiana Iris!

Seattle, WA(Zone 8b)

Oh okay....but be fore warned my shovel is in the trunk of the car. LOL
Thanks for sharing the pic....just gorgeous. It would look stunning next to my other LI, my Black Gamecock

Cape Cod, MA(Zone 7a)

I agree! I love it!
I don't know if I can grow these, do they have to be constantly moist????

Seattle, WA(Zone 8b)

I'm no expert, as I only have the one LI so far....but it does great in my bog area as well as in one of my smaller ponds. I'd say that means they like/tollerate moisture pretty well.
I'm sure an actual iris expert will be by in no time to answer that better for you (us) :-)

Metairie, LA(Zone 9b)

Louisiana iris species, being native to swamps, bogs and low areas, are generally happy in standing water. But they do fine in normal flower beds so long as they don't dry out. They just need to be watered during dry spells. But the more water the better.
