I bought this Amaryllis last fall. It is supposed to be Telstar, a pink. Obviously it is something else. I'm thrilled to have a double flower but does anybody know what it really is?
Can anyone name this one?
Well, maybe it's "Sweet Surrender" http://pnjshop.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=DAYLILY&Product_Code=DASS&Category_Code=AMP
a relative of "Aphrodite" from the Miyake Nursery in Japan.
It's so pretty! t.

No, that isn't it. Mine has a darker pink splash on each petal and also each petal is outlined with a thin dark pink line. Thanks for trying, got any other ideas?
oh Mary is that BEEEE___UUUU___TTT___FUL!!!!!
wow
Mary--where did you get the bulb? Maybe that would help identify it. t.
It came from our discount store that is part of a Northwest chain which only has stores in Oregon and a couple of nearly states. If I had ordered it from a nursery supplier this would be a much easier question. On the other hand, if a discount store carried it I thought maybe it was fairly common, (translate that cheaper) variety that somebody here might also have. My photo is much clearer than what I am seeing here on this thread. :(

How about "Andes"?
That looks very close. The quality of the photo on that site is not so good. I see that their price for it is about 3x what I paid for mine, so now I am wondering what Minerva which was purchased at the same time will turn out to be. That one isn't going to bloom soon, no flower stalk showing. So far, 4 out of 5 all purchased at the same store have been true to the photo on the box. Thank you for your help, for now at least it will be Andes.
Just to follow up, anyone reading this and thinking of ordering from Aaron's bulb farm (where the picture link takes you) you had best look at the Garden Watchdog first, by the way!

Try Scheepers instead.
Have fun. t.
Hi Mary, can it be hippeastrum whirlygig?

It seems to match except for size. Mine is only about 12-15 inches high and the flowers are about 7 inches across, about half of what the discription for Whirlygig says. Maybe a wimpy bulb? Thank you.
