NAV question

I've just purchased NAV 2005 to replace my older version 2002 which I have been paying each year to update for the newest virus definitions.
I have to uninstall the older version before I can install the new.
My question is what happens to the viruses that are in quarantine in the old NAV when I uninstall it. Do they go away with the old version or will they be unleashed in my computer.
I know it's a dumb question but I need to know before I uninstall it tomorrow morning.
