Blyth Rebloomers

Philadelphia, PA

I'm kinda new to irises and I have a question for everyone.
Does anyone have or know of any reblooming irises by Blyth? I've found a few but they were for zone 9 and were from back in the 80s.

Thanks for your help

Mit, I don't grow too many of Blyth's irises. So far the only ones that have rebloomed for me is "Light Beam", and "Mastery".

Maybe someone else will know of a couple more.

Sutton Garden has a very nice list of rebloomer's and their zone tolerance. You might find something there.

Or email Nicholl's garden.

Hi Mit,

I think that English Charm or Pagan Dance would be the most likely to rebloom for you. I have had Mastery for some time and it has not tried to rebloom here in zone 5.

I do get a lot of Blyth irises, I am rather seriously addicted to his work : ) If any of the newer ones rebloom in cold areas, I'll be sure to post.

Thank you everyone for your help. You've given some direction where to go. Actually, if I had the room I'd get them all and then I'd know which ones are the rebloomers. lol

I have 20 rebloomers, but only six have actually bloomed in the fall. I need just eh right cool August weather if the blooms will beat the Iowa snow. Immortality & Clarence are my only consistent ones.

English cottage did rebloom at my place too

English Charm did not re-bloom despite perfect conditions this fall...

RShadlow, you certainly ARE addicted to this work. So where do you pick up all of those Aussie cultivars?

Robin--what part of Omaha? My DH hails from Milliard. Moby lives in Lincoln.

There are certainly

Margie, I had no idea that "Mastery" rebloomed. No wonder it's so popular. Even if it is a Keith Keppel Iris. :-) Of course you have that nice zone 9 weather and the long growing season helps a lot.

And then there's always an extra meal of 5-10-10 to get things to rebloom.
