Reasons banties are the better size chickens.

1. They require less space and smaller houses.

2. They don't do as much damage to the gardens and beds they scratch in as larger chickens.

3. They are usually more gentle and make great pets.

4. Their eggs are small and allow you to divide a one egg recipe in half without figureing out how to do that and what to do with the remaining egg. For small families this can be a real asset.

5. Several of ours lay eggs all winter as well as in the summer.
