I bought 2 boxed Amaryllis a couple
of months ago. I kept them in the garage.
I didn't get around to opening them until a
week or so ago.
Imagine my surprise when I opened one of
the boxes and found a plant; complete with flowers!!
I put it in a pot and staked it a little. It
had 2 flowers blooming which are now
gone, and a third bud which will open
soon, I think.
There's also another stalk or 2 coming up.
Miracles do happen!
What a nice surprise
I did that once with a box of Surprise Lilies I got in trade. Actually, I HAD opened the box but put it aside. Imagine I had the same surprise you had to find a flower growing in the box!
The stalk on your amaryllis should green up now with light to make chlorophyl, and maybe even straighten up.
got some from Lowes this week 1/2 off and found two the same way.
