How can I dry my fall gourds?

I have so many beautiful gourds from my Thanksgiving decorating and I hate to just throw them out. Anyone have any suggestions on what I can do with them.

I did dry some one year, but they became dull in color and were not worth keeping. If anyone knows how I can preserve them and still have them look good, I would love to hear how you did it!
