I have never tried to grow bonsai before but I enjoy this collection and had to take these pic's with my new camera. Hope you enjoy.
This one is Ulmus Parvifolia Chinese Elm.
Chicago Botanical Garden Collection
The next one is probably a Juniper or Arborvitae.
Excellent pictures; thanks for sharing.

Glad you enjoy Ulrich. Just amazes me how effort goes into Bonsai. Maybe someday I'll give it a try.

It really takes very little work and is very rewarding. There are many books on the subject and the Internet has lots of free advice.

Lovely photos and specimens, Kruch. Thanks for posting. I love the planter in the first photo, quite creative.

If I ever find my photos from the Bonsai Collection at the National Arboretum in DC, I'll post them. (Don't hold your breath!) They have some absolutely incredible specimens 200-300 years old that were gifts from the Imperial Family in Japan.
This collection had an alarm system around the tables holding the plants, so must worth some money. Has anybody ever seen any other plants guarded like that at a public garden?
