I purchased one today at Costco. Just like the one on TV, but with "Coleman" also on the labeling. Cool little tool, but me thinks it is too little. Tried to solder some 14 gauge wire and it really was too much mass for it to handle. Seems like it might work well on really small items, but you do need to be carefully around electronic circuits. It is cheap enough ($15), I will likely get enough use out of it to warrant the cost, but I don't think I would highly recommend. The tip wears out and is relatively expensive to replace ($10) and the tool itself is bigger than a regular iron, so it likely will not fit in some of the small spaces it would be good to use.
Anyone else have one?
On a 5 pt scale, I would rate it 3.
Have you tried the "ColdHeat" cordless soldering tool?
