Better late than Never!

Well, trying to set new levels of laziness here in Iowa. Cici sent me some adorable Intermediate iris over 2 weeks ago & I finally planted them today. Planting Iris in Iowa in November? Well, they are going in a little pocket close to the house on the south side. Well mulched. I just hope they can get "dug in" before the snow hits!

Pot them up? Nope. Too lazy to water all winter. This is the latest I've ever planted iris. They're pretty tough, but we'll see next spring....

Hi Wanda,
The ones you sent me about a month ago are already settled in, checked them today. Hope the ones you just planted make it. I thought 5b is scheduled to get snow within the next week.

I've had snow on new iris with out a problem before.. I buried them under a pile of grass & leaves and the ground shouldn't really freeze here until late December. And the spot is close down by the house on the south side--that should help.
