I have tons of them and I didn't store them the right way last year. Has anyone harvested the tubors then successfully saved them for spring? If so, how did you store them? I thought about putting them in some of the shredded wood I get for the pet cages. Will peat moss work too? What kind of container? THANKS!!!!
How do I store Sweet Potato vine tubors?
The only time it worked for me was one year I had them in hanging baskets. I cut the tops off, didn't water all winter and kept them under the potting table in a 45* minimum temp greenhouse. In the spring, they started growing all on their own.
Cala...........I followed the same procedure and you and it worked! Elaine...... no moisture until the green begins to show!
Well, I've already dug them up so I guess the best thing to do is store them in a pot with some additional soil and peat moss. I'll have to keep it in the garage because our winters can go into the teens. Thanks for your ideas!
