I'm posting this here because 99.9 percent of Aristolochias are vines. Most people don't even know that there are tree species too. I'm looking for this particular one because it is the most spectacular and can tolerate temperatures down to 32 F. A mature tree is multi-trunked and gets to about 18 feet. As you can see, the blooms are cauliflorous (they bloom from the trunk and branches).
Apparently the can also be propagated from cuttings. Here is an image I found on the Internet. I've got some other images of this remarkable plant if anyone wants to see them.

Looking for seeds or cuttings of Aristolochia arborea
Have you tried Kartuz or Logees?
They had some new ones this year. Can't remember if that was one of them...

That is amazing! Are those leaves or flowers?
That is too cooool
Wow, that is awesome looking. I'm on a hunt now.
I like that one too!
So exotic looking!!!!
So the flowers kind of bunch up at the base of the trunk? Are they on small branches? Or do they sprout directly from the trunk?
Pretty darn cool!
Would love to see a picture of the whole tree.
any one finds some please post a link. Thats is so cool!!!!!
That's awesome...it looks like a cluster of bats or bugs on the trunk!
I have never seen anything like that before........wow..........it is something...
:o) Here is some info on it but there is more on the web.

That sure is unsual. It looks like it would need a lot of moisture and humidity to grow like that.
I have been searching the Net and haven't found any, if anyone finds these for sale PLEASE email me.
I just got this email today after inquiring about this plant. It isn't sounding good for finding one.
Ms. Morr
I just received this plant last summer from a colleague. I have done some
searching and not come up with a source yet. If I come up with one I will
let you know.
Sincerely

I sent off an email to a university that raises them and many others asking for a source so keep fingers crossed.
these are on Ebay, not exactly the same but close, and have very pretty leaves.
4327986662 just put this number in the search on ebay and it will come up.
Wow...I did that search on ebay. Neat looking leaves!
I then plugged in the name of that one, and came up with a site that has LOADS of aristolochias! http://www.sunshine-seeds.de/aristolochiaceae/foto_aristolochia.htm
So much for ever being able to collect them all! lol...

WOW seedpicker what a neat site. thanks
seedpicker I went to that site but all I saw were the pictures, no place to buy the seeds
Yeah...It's pretty much a big fat tease, isn't it??!! lol...
Here is their main page: http://www.sunshine-seeds.de/
I don't know if they mail to the US, or not. It is a German site...
They always have really rare, and really cool stuff! I just emailed them to ask if they'll mail to the US...

Let me know if you get an answer, I tried to find if they had the site in English but I guess not.
Well, I have one of those google toolbars. If you click the "I" button, it will translate for you. This way I can navigate in English, even though it is in German.
I also love the "highlighter" feature. It highlights(if you click it)the word, or words in your search box...neat.
I'll post here, if they can read English, and return my email(in English! lol...).

I have been looking to but have found no source. Duke University has one too i believe from what I read on the web page. They have several GH's and sell plants all the time. But to far away from me lol. Kareoke I was planning on biding on it and forgot :-( Sure hope she has another one. I believe she said she had picked up a couple
Wow, that is some BIG bloom. Congrats.
thanks Brugie, I just had to have one.
I am sending you an email, have a question to ask you *S*
Wish I could have answered your question. I'm still trying to find the answer. LOL!
seedpicker, I visited the link you provided (sunshine-seeds) and they have a button 'für englishsprechende Kunden' (means 'for English speaking customers') that links you to paypal. Does this help?
Ursula
Brugie me too, guess i will see if anyone answers in the Mail Forum. thanks
Thanks Ursula!
I was using the google toolbar button that translates, but it doesn't always translate correctly.
I'll try that link, instead! Thank you!

RWhiz,
I'm curious to know if you were ever able to find this.
No, never was. I did get access to a couple of other tree seeds that I was looking for though. I'll keep trying.
-Ron-
Thanks for the update Ron. Good luck with the seeds you managed to get of the other trees.
I just love the things you learn in t his place. Those are some very cool plants/trees.

It's like a plant scavenger hunt. I'm still on the look-out for it.
