What an awesome photo! Lovely plant, and a pic that actually does it justice. I used to see those growing wild in a vacant lot near my yard when I lived in Eagle Pass TX. They were a paler shade of pink though. Your photo makes me miss them. :)

Thank you for your compliments about the photo. They had a few of these plants at my favorite nursery last summer and I was so impressed with the blooms and the beautiful color which I have never seen before. I debated whether to buy one because they were very large plants and very expensive. I went home and looked up information about them as I do now before I buy a plant that I don't know about. Several days later, I went back to the nursery after deciding that I just had to buy one due to the unique color of the blooms, but alas, they were all sold. I am happy that the photo reminded you of Texas, your old home.
