Pine cone Owl's

Taylor Creek, FL(Zone 10a)

This is a good project for kids. Get a big pine cone, gently break off some pine ""petals" of different sizes. One side looks like an owl. Put a dot of white paint on either side of the "beaks". (can use q-tip) Let dry. Put a speck of black paint on each white dot. (can use toothpick) This of course makes eyes. They can all be "looking" in amusing ways (crosseyed, left, right, up,down, etc.)glue "owl" bottoms to found wood . On a twig this owl family can be planted to look over a plant or use your imagination. Very inexpensive and rewarding.
