I am new to gardening and the house we just bought is surrounded by a veritable jungle. I just bought this huge bouganvilla w/ hot pink blossoms all over it and want to put it in my front yard and train it up the lattice on the porch, but am nervous about putting in out side...we live in Denver and it gets cold here in the winter. Any advice would be welcome.
Bouganvilla - is it a climbing vine?
It is more of a rambler and you will need to "train' it yourself - also beware of the thorns....lol. I'm in Texas where it dies to the ground every year but it always comes back. I am clueless how it will do in CO....good luck!
Thataligirl, you'll have to bring yours inside the house or greenhouse for the winter. There is no way that it will survive your zone. It is only hardy to zone 9. See this link: http://davesgarden.com/pdb/go/55375/index.html
