Help! I have milkweed borers or beetles (orange w/black marking on their back) which decimated my milkweed. I planted new milkweed plants and have been picking them off as they come. Now they are on my fiddlewood tree (about 6 ft high, 2 yrs. old). they don't seem to be killing it, but i'm worried. any thoughts? the fiddlewood is loaded w/bees and i can't spray it.
milkweed borers
Milkweed borers? Hmmm....orange with black markings?
Are they caterpillar-looking? Are they "bug-looking"? (My first thought was the Harlequin bug.)
Can you elaborate a bit more...that'll help with identifying them and, more importantly, determining how to deal with them (if necessary).
By the way, what is a fiddle wood tree? (Not familiar with all the nick names.)
Also, WELCOME TO DG!
