This is from the book "The Contrary Farmer's Introduction to Gardening " by G. Logsdon.

PIGEON PIE

Pigeon pie , made like we make chicken pot pie ( the top crust requires 3 sticks of butter ), is a heavenly dish . Under such a crust , old skunk meat would taste good .
