I recently moved into a house with a 30' tall tree in the back yard. It has been dropping lots of leaves ever since I moved in in July. Is this normal? Shouldn't it be waiting until fall? Our weather has been typical nice summer weather, and I've deep watered it a couple of times, hoping that would help. Could it be lacking something else? If so, what? The poor thing has been neglected for years by former tenants, and I'd like to make it as happy as possible -- and hopefully reduce the leaf-raking! My other question is, why don't these trees bloom? Could it be the same problem? My landlady said it had not bloomed once in 15 years. Thanks for any info for this novice (but earnest) gardener.
