i have these on my lilies. they are quick and usually skidaddle to the other side of the stem etc, when i am trying to photograph them. this pic is the closest i could get. it almost looks like half of a walnut shell with puff of white hair coming out the rear of it, i think is the rear. :-) i see them on the stems, under the leaves and sometimes in the flower itself.
any help appreciated. thanks

what kind of bug is this?
I can't see the bug in the photo... maybe if you caught one and took a photo of it close up?
