Where can I order a Fruit Salad Tree in the U.S.?

San Diego, CA

Hi: I am new to the list, and fairly new to gardening, so please forgive me if this has been covered before. I am interested in ordering a Fruit Salad Tree and have only found them for sale in Australia, I would like to find a nursery in the U.S. that sells them. Also, we are in zone 11, could a stone fruit tree do well here? Thanks! Jennifer

Tonasket, WA(Zone 5a)

I never heard of a Fruit Salad tree, do you know what the botanical name is. Anyway since I live in zone 5, I probably wouldn't have any experience with the tree. Sorry not to be of help. Donna

Sounds like just the tree you should be able to find in SD, they have so many places to look.. what kind of fruits are grafted together?

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Here's a link to an article that gives some possible US sources: http://www.slonet.org/~crfgslo/Information/TREES_OF_PLENTY.HTM

Long Beach, CA(Zone 10b)

flyingarrow- we bought an apple tree at the Huntington Botanical Garden in Pasadena/San Marino for our daughter that has 4 different apples. I didn't look for any others because she likes apples only ; ) but you might try coming up here for their next sale.

Oak Grove, MN(Zone 4a)

I think Stark Bros. or Musser Forests had one listed, but I can't find the catalogs anymore.

Seattle, WA(Zone 8b)

Firts link is to a nice article about these trees....the second link is to a company specializing in them.
