Help! favorite DELPHINIUM leaves browning, blooms whithered, why?

Cincinnati, OH(Zone 6a)

I have four pacific giant delphiniums (beautiful bicolor) and I'm losing two. The leaves turn yellow then shrivel up and turn brown and crisp, the blooms are also whithered. We have had a lot of rain and at first I thought that too much water was the problem but the other two in the same area are healthy and blooming, I hope this wilt problem isn't contangious, these are some of my favorites--so sad. Any ideas what it is and how to treat it? Thanks

Could it be heat? Delphs really prefer cool growing conditions.

Zinna, sounds like them 2 have been hit with root rot because of the heavy water. Even a few feet difference between plants can be enough for some to get it and others not to.
