new iris in pots?

Pickens, SC(Zone 7a)

I dont have all my bedding areas ready. If I pot my TB iris now and plant them in the ground in early sept/late aug will that endanger next years blooms?

Not at all! In fact, potting them now while you're getting their bed ready will help them develop a strong root system and give you a better chance of first year bloom next spring. Of course, it's not at all uncommon for first year irises *not* to bloom, so you shouldn't necessarily expect bloom from your new irises next spring, anyway.
