...is a small iridescent dark blue fly, with a red-orange head??? They are eating my hibiscus plants only, and only the perennial hibiscus, not my annuals or any of my other plants. What should I use to get rid of them and how often should I use it?? TIA!! SherryLike
What kind of flying insect...
Are you sure they are not leaf beetles of some type. Adult true flies do not normally feed on plants other than nectar or other secretions? Most insecticides are effective against beetles, in both spray or dust form, but unfortunately will harm beneficial insects too.
