removing astroturf from front steps and concrete patio

ok guys how do I get this stuff off?
I think it was glued down in the 60's.

Any ideas what to use to get it off? I haven't started trying yet. I want to remove it and use a faux technique to make it look like flagstone. :) Then I want to do mosaic on the fronts of the steps.

Any ideas?
