Here is a picture of a cement birdbath that I decided to do a Mosaic design on last summer. It has held up to the elements real well with no cracks or chips. It gets a little green sometimes with the combination of water and sun, but I just scrub with a soft brush and it is as good as new.
Sorry, but I can't seem to enlarge the picture :-(
