I just found Termites under my landscapers cloth in my garden. Is this something I need to worry about? I know that it's a natural thing but I'm worried they will get into the walls of my house. It's a brand new mobile home so I really don't think I have that problem..........yet. I read in another thread that baking soda would help get rid of them but what effect would that have in the soil in my garden? I really don't think it's a good idea. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I just found Termites in my garden
Quite a gross eye-opener to come across a colony, isn't it? We found some about 1.5' from the front of our home, beneath some concrete pavers we moved. Ick.
They live in colonies outside and come into houses to gather wood pulp and bring it back out to their colonies. Take a look at U of Kentucky's great fact sheet: http://www.uky.edu/Agriculture/Entomology/entfacts/struct/ef639.htm
It might put your mind at ease, too. Termite baiting seems an effective way to go.
