Desert Rose (Adenium obesum)
Your Adenium is quite spectacular! It must be truly breathtaking in bloom!
Cute turtle!

I think this should be the Plants Database Photo of the YEAR!
Thanks for a view of your plant. It is gorgeous!!! You definitely won first prize in my book. Keep up awesome work. By the way, the turtle's cute.
WOW! Pics I've seen of these in their native environment are very tree-like. Can't imagine how you keep it so happy in Toronto! Such a nice thick base! Great pic!!!!
Did you post that in the Bonsai Forum? They'll appreciate it too.
Even better in bloom!!!
I love it!
Spectacular! I wish I could grow an Adenium like that.
Mike

That plant is gorgeous! While at Market Days in Wimberley today, I saw some for sale and just couldn't resist....I bought one about 12" tall and one about 5" tall. I've heard they aren't cold hardy at all. We stay a bit warmer down here in Texas and mine will go into the greenhouse for those really cold nites, but I was wondering what you do for yours in the winter, especially up there in Canada! I've never grown these before but I always love trying something new, and those plants really caught my eye. So many interesting things about them. Can't wait to get growing!! Any pointers you can give on growing this plant would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance! Debbie
Very pretty, I have but only three years old. Your plant is looking great.

Wow! That's beautiful!

That is beautiful and so is the turtle. Please tell us a little about how you take care of it and how you prune it to keep it short and stocky. That is a perfect way to display it and keep it under control so you can move it around.
I assume you bring it in and out as season demands.
I have one and it is about 10" tall and very thin. I just ordered 4 more and I sure hope they look like yours in time. Thank you for the beautiful picture, Joan
Thanks for all the wonderful feedback and sorry for the delay in response. Please direct all questions to clonec7@hotmail.com for faster response.
For all those asking for tips:
-Fertilize during spring and summer periods once every 2 weeks using fish fertilizer
-Full sun exposure all year round
-keep in small pot
-prune at your own risk but I personally let it grow naturally without pruning
-keep dry in winter (water only once a week)
-keep moist in summer
Huge inspiration to me! Beautiful example.
I recently found some seed I had purchased a few years ago and was surprised when it germinated in a few days. So I was looking thru the pics here at Dave's. Yours is absolutely spectacular...the one to aspire to!! thanks for leaving the culture tips...I have copied them for reference. they obviously work very well.
What can I say? This plant looks great !!!!!!!
How is your Desert Rose doing over 6 years later?
(Great, I hope!!!)
Unbelievable man! Gorgeous!
