What causes this and what to do about it. The past two summers, the vines are vigorous until the end of May, put on lots of flower buds and then wilt and die back. I'd love to see their flowers some day. Chems, Ph, bugs, viruses? What gives? Any info pleeeeese?
clematis wilt!
There is a disease called clematis wilt. http://www.gardenadvice.co.uk/howto/disease/clematis_wilt/ I have one that is sick too. I'm not sure mine is wilt... Certain stems just turn brown and crisp, while the rest of the plant looks fine. I've been thinking I might just get rid of the plant rather then try and save it.
