Help! I'm having a Hard Time with Sharing Photos

I just got a new Dell. I've been using Picassa as a photo organizer. It worked fine on my old computer now when go to "browse" to upload a photo to DG I have to go through each album to find the photo I want. Is there an easy place to put a photo. I have 8,000 images stored on my hard drive. I'm really not too computer savy. Thanks everyone.
