Century-old climber

Mysore, India(Zone 10a)

Today's paper here carried an article on IPOMOEA MYSORENSIS. This vine is growing in a village for more than a hundred years. I can't make out details from the picture published. I thought this was very interesting. I wondered how a climber can last that long. Have heard of trees going on and on, but this climber raised my eyebrows.

Will come back and post the scanned article- hope it will be readable.

Coming back to say that the floppy has a problem and will have to wait till it is redone.

Dinu, did you ever get more information on this? Did you find if the story was true or did the vine just come back through re-sowing itself?
:O)
