My long awaited Iris Japonica arrived yesterday

I bought what I now think was Iris Japonica from SpringHill many years ago as Lace Handkerchief iris. It didn't say it wasn't hardy in zone 5 so I thought I had lost it to a long wet spring/summer/fall. I've been afraid to try again because they get so much for it. Then I found out it really isn't hardy in zone 5 so it was the winter that killed it. At least I think that is what I have learned. Time will tell. Anyway, I ordered Iris Japonica from The Iris Gallery this spring and it is now here. I know I'll have to keep it in pots and pull it into the house in the winter but if it is really what I think I had before it will be so worth it. Otherwise, I'll order Lace Handkerchief next year from Spring Hill and keep it in pots to see if I can keep it going.
