I planted some little ivy houseplants into three big seashells. I'm watching them carefully so that if they don't look like they like it, I can remove them quickly. So far so good. I didn't drill any drainage holes in them and there isn't much room for soil. It's just an experiment...
Has anybody else tried this? What did you learn?

mommydi - i've never thought to try them but the pics look great. did'nt think you could get enough soil into the shells. keep us updated.
