weeping bottlebrush not blooming

Niceville, FL(Zone 8b)

I have a weeping bottlebrush (callistemon viminalis) that I have had for two years now. Several of my neighbors have them and they are in bloom now. Mine has yet to bloom. It gets sun until about 3 pm. Is it not getting enough sun? Anyone have suggestions? It looks healthy and has new growth.

I have been told that if you fertilize too much you will get leaves but no blooms,,,maybe that is your prob...i have one that is pretty much in full sun and I just put some cow manure around it and it is blooming and looking good so ar...DEB

Is yours in the ground or in a pot? I've heard they won't flower in a pot (indeed, none of my potted ones have ever bloomed, while my ones in the ground bloom well). I don't really ever fertilize mine, either.

It is in the ground. I did fertilize it a little but not much. Maybe it is not getting enough sun. It gets afternoon shade.
