small orchid

This small orchid is "Iwachidori (Amitostigma keiskei)". I have a poor flower this year. They are native to Japanesee mountains.
This is a bulb plant.

What a beauty, goldenfish!

The flowers remind me of our native Schizanthus hookerii (annual) http://www.ujf-grenoble.fr/JAL/chili/imag-CH/schy.jpg


Maybe, the resemblance to your orchid is what gave our Schizanthus the popular name 'Poor Man's Orchid' in the USA and UK.

and 'Poor man's orchid' is funny name. I like it.
This Amitostigma keiskei's actual size is only 3.9inch height. You can put the pot on your hand:)
